Data Scientist

We are looking for a Data Scientist who has experience in analyzing large data sets in distributed environments such as Microsoft Azure.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for discovering patterns from data and working with internal stakeholders to understand business problems.

Responsibilities:

• Work on cross-functional R&D teams and business-unit data scientists/analysts, doing hands-on machine learning research

• Accelerate the deployment of reproducible machine learning models by helping the business set and apply current best practices, including the use of open-source software, container-based or server less cloud platforms, and self-service operating models.

• Develop common DS/machine learning tools and infrastructure across the business.

• Set the standards for statistical testing and experimental design, as well as other quality standards such as testing coverage, code review, etc. for data science

Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related analytical disciplines

• Nice to have a certificate in Machine learning or Data Science 

• 3+ years of experience in applied statistical analysis and machine learning in a software development environment, ideally using Natural Language Processing

• A deep understanding of probability theory, statistics, and multivariate calculus

• Extensive experience analyzing data and a broad understanding of core statistical and machine learning techniques.

• Strong scripting and engineering skills in Python and R 

• proficiency in using query languages such as SQL

• Knowledge of Machine learning libraries such as tensorflow, Kaffe, PyTorch

• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms

• Experience in a high growth agile software development environment (Scrum or Kanban)

• Ability to accept suggestions for improvement and willingness to stay on task until the job is done.

• Demonstrated ability to perform high-quality work both independently and collaboratively.
